Thank you for your interest in becoming a Mentor!
Mentorship is vital to student success in our program. Our program includes a 15-week curriculum for participating students consisting of online modules, animated videos, worksheet activities, and most importantly, virtual mentorship sessions with mentors from college, graduate school, and the professional world.
Together with your peers, you will guide students through curriculum objectives as they create and conduct their experiments. During a brief training video, you will learn exactly what mentoring our students is like, and prior to each session you will receive an overview of what the content is for that day and how you will be working with students. Mentors will have several opportunities to ask questions before working directly with students.

we just ask that you have a love of science!
We need your help!Â
You can participate as a mentor in two different ways:
Team Mentors
DESCRIPTION: Designed for consistency, you will join the same team of students for a total of six sessions. Each session will occur on the same day of the week at a consistent time based on the team you choose (see the table below for team options). Team mentors will also consistently work with the same students during their sessions, and participate in the culminating virtual science fair as a judge while their students present their results.

As a thank you for your time, team mentors will receive certificates of participation.
Flex Mentors
DESCRIPTION: Designed for flexibility, you will sign up for individual sessions, joining different groups of students. You can sign up for as many sessions as you want, and we will email you when additional opportunities become available. Flex scheduling works best for those who cannot commit to a recurring team schedule that meets on the same day of the week within the same time frame.

As a thank you for your time, flex mentors who complete a minimum of 6 sessions and the training will receive certificates of participation.
The current mentorship schedule is below. All times are in Eastern Standard. If you are interested in signing up as a Team Mentor, choose a team that works best with your schedule. If you want to sign up as a Flex Mentor, fill out the form and we will send you a sign-up sheet for individual session dates from the table below. We will reach out to you with more information shortly after you submit your preferences to provide access to the training materials and confirm your submission.
