Join our team as a
Mentor!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Mentor!
Mentorship is vital to student success in our program. Our program includes a 19-week curriculum for participating students consisting of online modules, animated videos, worksheet activities, and most importantly, virtual mentorship sessions with mentors from college, graduate school, and the professional world.
As a mentor you would:
-guide students through our curriculum and help them design and conduct their experiments
-prior to each session you will receive an overview of what the content is for that day and training before teaching students
Mentor Requirements:
-Be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or professional in science or math
-Complete a American Chemical Society Youth Protection background check (will require a SSN, please contact us if this is an issue, we can find another solution)
The best part? There is no experience required to join us as a mentor and everything is virtual –
we just ask that you have a love of science!
We need your help!
Responsibilities of a Mentor Include (~25 hour service commitment between December to April):
1. Reviewing materials prior to sessions at your convenience (1 hour per session)
2. Running 6 virtual mentorship sessions (1.5 hours each) and serving as a back-up for 4 sessions
4. Reviewing 5 written project proposals and 5 abstracts for students and giving comments
4. Help us with our final Science Fair on 4/11/26 8am-4pm
